Abstract
Cystic renal cell carcinoma includes any malignant neoplasms of renal tubular epithelium which present as fluid-filled mass. It represents approximately 4-15% of all renal cell carcinomas. The radiographic and pathologic findings of cystic renal cell carcinoma are often more confusing and less specific than the findings of solid renal cell carcinoma. So far, according to the domestic literature there was no report of a cystic renal cell carcinoma greater than 15cm. A presumptive diagnosis of 19cm sized giant cystic renal cell carcinoma was made preoperatively in a 59-year-old man treated with radical nephrectomy and confirmed histopathologically. We report this case with a brief review of the literatures. (Korean J Urol Oncol 2007;5:165-168)
