Abstract |
Urachal cyst is a rare lesion in the adult. Prompt diagnosis and management are important to avoid complications. We experienced a case of infected urachal cyst causing lower abdominal pain in a 27 years old female. A hard tender mass was palpable in the suprapubic area. Computerized tomogram and ultrasonogram showed a 5x5cm sized cystic lesion with posterior wall thickness in superior to blader dome. Voiding cystourethrogram showed no communication between bladder and tumor. Cystoscopy revealed a 5x5cm sized pinkish protruding mass with pus in bladder dome. Urachal cyst excision and partial cystectomy was done. Grossly, 10x10cm sized hard urachal cyst was adhesed to bladder muscle sheath, peritoneum and omentum. Pathologic diagnosis was acute and chronic inflammation of urachal remnant.(Korean J Urol Oncol 2007;5:52-55) |
